Telegram AI: Chat Summary and Search is a browser extension that adds a side panel to Telegram Web. When you ask it a question about your chats, or press Catch up on a chat, it reads the relevant messages from the Telegram Web page you have open and sends them, together with your question, to our server and on to an AI model, to produce one answer for you. Nothing is read in the background, and we store no message text.
We do not sell your data, transfer it to third parties for their own purposes, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
We are an independent developer, reachable at tgaixtnsn@gmail.com. This extension is an independent software product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Telegram.
Messages of the chat you are looking at, when you ask. For a question, the extension searches the open chat (or, if you switch "Only current chat" off, your chats) through Telegram Web's own client and collects the matching messages: their text, the sender's name and the date. For a Catch up, it reads the unread messages of the open chat, or the last 24 hours or 7 days of it. It never reads anything in the background, never sends, edits or deletes a message, and never changes your account.
The chat's card. With a question it also reads the open chat's title, description, the open topic's title and the latest pinned message, so the answer knows what the chat is about.
Your Telegram account id. Every request to our server carries the numeric id of the Telegram account signed in on the page. The server uses it to count your daily allowance of questions. It stores only a keyed hash of the id (a one-way code), never the id itself, and never your phone number or name.
Your settings. Whether you have passed the start screen, your interface language (English or Russian), the install date, and whether the first-run hint has been shown.
On your computer, in storage that belongs to the extension: that you pressed Start on the first screen, the interface language, the install date, that the first-run hint has been shown, and whether you have left an e-mail for the plan notice (a yes/no flag — the address itself is not kept in the browser). Nothing else.
The conversation in the side panel — your questions, the answers and the messages they cite — lives in the panel's memory only and is gone when you close it or press New chat. No message text is ever written to storage, to disk or to a log, in the browser or on our server.
These are the only moments your browser contacts a server because of the extension. Each one follows something you did.
| Where | When | What is sent |
|---|---|---|
Our server, api.tg-ai.app | every question | your Telegram account id and the extension version; the question; the open chat's card; for a follow-up, the earlier questions and answers of the conversation. Then, once the search is done, the question and the matching messages (text, sender name, date). |
| Our server | every Catch up | the text of the messages in the chosen range, the range you picked and how many messages were read |
| Our server | when the panel opens · when you click "Notify me" | your account id and version, to show how many questions are left today · the e-mail address you typed, if you ask to be told when paid plans open |
| The AI provider — from our server, never from your browser | every question and Catch up | the messages and the question above, as one prompt, to produce the answer. We use zero-data-retention routes where the provider offers them; otherwise the provider may keep requests for up to 90 days to detect abuse and then deletes them. |
| Telegram's own servers | every search or Catch up | Telegram Web itself fetches the messages, as it does when you scroll or search. The extension sends nothing to Telegram. |
Our welcome page, tg-ai.app/welcome/ | once, right after you install | an ordinary page visit; the address carries the extension version and a marker that the visit came from the extension — nothing about you |
Our uninstall page, tg-ai.app/uninstall/ | if you remove the extension | a page with one question; the address carries the extension version, the number of days it was installed and your interface language. No identifier. |
Page analytics. The welcome, uninstall and privacy pages use Cloudflare Web Analytics: it counts page visits without cookies and without any identifier of you. The extension itself contains no analytics.
Our server keeps service records only — never message text, never a question or an answer, never your raw account id:
These records are kept for as long as the service runs, in a database on our server; nightly backups of that database are kept for 30 days on the same server. We do not use them to profile you or to show you anything; they exist to count the allowance, to guard our costs and to see whether the service works.
We do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, payment details or location, and the extension has no account to sign up for. The only personal data we hold is the keyed hash described above and, if you gave it, the e-mail for the plan notice. If you write to us, we use what you sent only to reply and to fix the problem.
Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored on your computer. The conversation in the panel disappears when you close it. To have your user record and request records deleted from our server, e-mail us from the address above with the Telegram account id you used; because we hold only a hash of it, we need the id to find the record.
This extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data obtained through the extension is:
web.telegram.org — to run the extension's content scripts on Telegram Web and read the open chat through Telegram's own web client when you ask a question or request a summary. This extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If this policy changes, we update it here and revise the date at the top. If the extension starts doing something with your data that this page does not describe, we will say so clearly rather than quietly editing the text.
